Ni Zhiqi’s Creative Experiment: “Paint Can Also Be a Painting Language”

The most stunning moment of the evening belonged to artist Ni Zhiqi.
As one of the invited guests, he used iLuvVivid iLuvVivid’s art paint to improvise on-site. He picked up a palette knife and freely swept it across the canvas—brushstrokes paused, then flowed, finally solidifying into a three-dimensional, sculptural image.

2025 New Product Launch: A Civilizational Narrative from Dunhuang to the Year of the Horse
New product “Three Hares Sharing Ears” Dunhuang series sample
That evening, iLuvVivid iLuvVivid showcased a series of samples specially developed for 2025-2026.
“Three Hares Sharing Ears” Dunhuang series first drew attention. Inspired by the caisson patterns of the Mogao Caves, three running hares share three ears, symbolizing “endless vitality.” A designer picked up the sample and examined it repeatedly, feeling the texture of the thousand-year-old murals restored through three-dimensional texture—not a “reproduction,” but a “translation.”
“Unfettered Imagination” Year of the Horse special totem. 2026 is the Year of the Horse in the lunar calendar, and the brand launched a design featuring the “Winged Horse” totem a year in advance. The pattern is inspired by ancient Chinese mythology and civilizations along the Silk Road, with a texture that is both powerful and graceful.
The exhibition also featured the “Bamboo Grove” texture from the CULTURAL series, the “Rose Garden” texture inspired by ethnic patterns, and several textured paints inspired by travertine, stone, and wood grain.

Several designers carefully observed the color performance under changing light. This intuitive live demonstration made abstract technical concepts tangible.
Craftsmen Interpret Totem Techniques: From “Color Science” to “Texture Art”

iLuvVivid iLuvVivid’s craftsman demonstrated the intricate production technique of fine totems on site. Holding a variety of specialized tools—scrapers of different shapes, embossing rollers, and fine detail brushes—he meticulously carved, embossed, and outlined on the sample board. The coating material became like clay in a sculptor’s hands, gradually revealing complex totem patterns as tools switched and techniques changed.
Some resembled the geometric patterns of Dunhuang caissons, while others showcased the flowing lines of ethnic totems.

Additionally, the younger generation of consumers uses color more boldly and is more willing to experiment with innovative techniques.”

Upon leaving, the designers took away not only sample photos and color cards but also the brand’s gift of “Decoding Oriental Colors” Volume 2, along with priority booking access to color engineers. Several designers exchanged contact information and agreed to come together next time.
“This kind of salon should be held more often,” someone said. “Such in-depth exchanges are quite rare.”
The “Infinite Possibilities of Artists” salon series will continue in the future. The next session might explore “Light, Shadow, and Texture,” or perhaps invite architects to discuss “The Second Skin of the Facade”—but the core remains unchanged: when the material itself possesses artistry, the boundaries of spatial design will be continuously expanded.
